No matter what your individual needs are, we make sure that you everything you need in place to feel supported when you’re studying. As a very minimum, all our students have:
A Personal Tutor where you’ll meet as part of a group or in 1-2-1s to discuss your work, any concerns or issues, and progression opportunities
Pastoral support with any barriers to learning, such as financial support, mental health and well-being, re-engagement with education, study support and social and cultural barriers
Academic study skill development is embedded in lessons and enhanced through enrichment activities
Careers information, advice and guidance to help you find progression opportunities in study or employment
Application and progression support to universities or into employment
Sector-specific enrichment opportunities including guest speakers, masterclasses, trips to universities and more
Student Voice opportunities to give feedback, voice opinions and facilitate the development of the college and the qualifications we offer
We also provide support and tailored careers advice relevant to your level of study. Examples of this include:
- UCAS application support for students applying to university
- Graduate attribute development for university level students
- Disabled Students’ Allowance Officer who can help our university level students with an individual need access 1-2-1 academic support and funding
Our teachers
Regardless of whether you are studying online or in-person at one of our campuses, all our students receive the same level of dedicated support from their Tutors.
Our Tutors go above and beyond to make sure that you can go further in your studies, and really maximise your career and enjoyment potential.
Because they have worked in the industry you want to get into, our Tutors are able to share their knowledge and experiences with you, including what to expect when you qualify, what problems you might experience and how to overcome them.
It also means that they can introduce you to some great contacts in the industry and arrange unrivalled opportunities with the best employers in the region.
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
The college offers a wide range of assistance to students who have an EHCP. We believe that all students should have an equal chance of success and offer specialist learning support, equipment and resources.
You will need to complete a disability disclosure form so that your needs can be assessed and the appropriate support put into place.

Learning resource centre
Our Learning Resource Centres have all the tools and resources you will need to reinforce, enrich and develop your knowledge and skills.
Our, experienced and friendly staff are here to help you access a growing catalogue of print, audio-visual and electronic resources that support the college's study programmes. The resources have been specially selected by tutors and library staff to help you succeed in your studies
If you need help do not hesitate to ask a member of the LRC team. In addition to resources and advice, our Senior Learning Facilitators can provide 1-2-1 support with:
- maths and English to GCSE level
- study skills
- essays and assignments
- revision and exam preparation
All our Learning Hubs have Wi-Fi, PCs with printing, desks for individual or group study, and areas for quiet study. The Learning Hub at City Campus and Hillsborough have dedicated well-being spaces, where you can take a break from your studies and find resources on mental health and other issues.
